Human Company Rotterdam

Twenty years ago, the team at Human Company was based in this building, where the work environment was vastly different. Back then, the office was filled with small rooms, red carpet, and a dark hallway, reflecting the work culture and methods of the time. Now, two decades later, Human Company is returning to its old office in the Thornico building on Westblaak. However, work hours and methods have evolved, and the office required a complete transformation to meet the demands of modern workflows.

Through a reorganization of the walls and the thoughtful application of warm materials and green elements, the new office has been brought up to date for the modern work environment. The design offers ample space for collaborative work areas for the psychologists, featuring an open structure that maintains the necessary privacy for this field. The layout ensures that candidates and psychologists are sufficiently separated, allowing the open design to enhance workflow without compromising privacy.

Transparent Privacy

A key feature of the new design is the use of glass walls in the psychologists’ areas, which provide an ideal balance of transparency and privacy. These glass partitions allow ample natural light to flow through the space while offering clear visibility of the candidates. However, the rooms remain visually enclosed to ensure the necessary confidentiality. To further enhance flexibility, frosted film is applied to the glass panels, allowing the team, who typically works in a more private setting, to seamlessly integrate into the candidate spaces when needed. This innovative approach fosters a sense of openness and collaboration while maintaining the privacy essential for their work.
